One beauty essential you can always find in my bag is a lip product (or three). My lips are extra dry no matter the season, so keeping a lipstick or balm on hand is a must. And, as any lip lover knows, one of the most legendary brands for lip products is Revlon. Associated with beauty icons including Lauren Hutton, Cindy Crawford, Halle Berry, and Ashley Graham, Revlon has been helping people gloss, coat, and fill in their lips for over 85 years.
So, naturally, I had to try out the brand's most coveted lip products. For a month, I put the (TikTok-viral) Super Lustrous Glass Shine Lipstick, ColorStay Limitless Matte Liquid Lipstick, Super Lustrous Lipstick, and ColorStay Lip Liner to the test. Keep reading for my full review.
Super Lustrous Glass Shine Lipstick
What caught my eye about the Super Lustrous Glass Shine Lipstick was its glossy, balm-like finish. I love a versatile product, and hydration and color in one formula is exactly what I am looking for. The packaging is a sleek white tube with a clear top that makes it easy to spot the shade inside. The first swipe felt buttery and luxurious, and the glossy finish provided a beautiful shine. The formula feels like a hybrid of balm and lipstick—no stickiness here. While the shine faded after about three hours, my lips stayed moisturized. I had to reapply after eating, but the sheer-to-buildable formula makes that a breeze.
I tried the shade "Rum Raisin," which has been a longtime favorite of mine in other Revlon lip products, and I was so happy to see it look just as stunning here. This lipstick is definitely one I could use every day—hydrating, comfortable, and with just the right amount of color and shine. It is 100% worth the TikTok hype.
ColorStay Limitless Matte Liquid Lipstick
I had high hopes for this liquid lipstick, and it didn't disappoint. The precise, pointed applicator made lining and filling in my lips super easy. Upon first swipe, the color payoff was intense but not overbearing. The formula feels lightweight during application, making it easy to get an even coat. Once it sets, it has a slight shine that, in about 10 seconds, transitions into a velvety matte. It's not drying, but it's not hydrating either—kind of the perfect middle ground for a matte lip.
I tested the shade "Top Talent," a warm red that gave me a glamorous lip. I wore it through a full day of eating and drinking, and while it wasn't completely transfer-proof, the staying power was impressive. The color held on beautifully, only fading slightly after hours of wear. Since I have really dry lips, I like to prep with a layer of lip balm and let it set before applying. This combo made the lipstick feel even more comfortable on my lips. Overall, the ColorStay Limitless Matte Liquid Lipstick is a long-lasting matte lip that stays put, especially through a night out.
Super Lustrous Lipstick
This classic Revlon lipstick is a true icon, and after trying it, I can see why. First off, the packaging—black and gold—is stunning and gives serious luxury vibes. Another win? It's fragrance-free, which is always a bonus in my book due to my sensitive skin.
The formula is creamy and lightweight, without drying out my lips. I tried the shades "Daylight Delight" and "Bare It All," and both are gorgeous. "Daylight Delight" is the ultimate everyday shade and I loved adding a touch of "Bare It All" to the center of my lips for a subtle, dimensional pop. The color payoff is amazing, with medium-to-full coverage in one swipe and a soft satin finish that's not too shiny. It stayed put while drinking my tea but faded after eating; however, it left behind a soft stain that still looked pretty. Overall, this classic lipstick is versatile, comfortable, and makes me feel expensive without breaking the bank.
ColorStay Lip Liner
The twist-up packaging of the ColorStay Lip Liner is super convenient—no sharpener is needed. The formula is creamy enough to glide on easily but firm enough to give you precise lines.I tried the shade "Nude," and it was the perfect nude for me: It blended effortlessly with my natural lip color. I could use it solo for a matte, natural lip look that lasted hours without feathering or pair it with a gloss or tinted balm for a softer, everyday look (the Rhode Peptide Lip Tint in "Toast" matched perfectly.) I also applied the ColorStay Lip Liner while wearing the Super Lustrous Lipstick and the ColorStay Liquid Lipstick, and it helped add an extra layer of definition that made them last even longer. What really impressed me was how comfortable it felt on my lips—no hardening or drying out. Whether I was going for a glam lip or a low-key, natural look, this lip liner delivered every time.
